Bona Bones
Animator, Director, & Arts Educator
Bona Bones is an accomplished animator, holding a B.F.A. in Experimental Animation from the California Institute of the Arts and an M.F.A. in Animation from the University of Edinburgh- Edinburgh College of Art.
In 2016, Bona was awarded the prestigious Helen Hill Fellowship at Dartmouth College, which sparked her passion for arts education. She went on to become an Assistant Professor of Animation at the Kansas City Art Institute for four years. She currently directs animation full-time at The Rabbit hOle, a pioneering children's museum committed to creating immersive, multisensory exhibits centered around children's literature.
With extensive experience in commercial, feature, and television animation, Bona is a specialist in stop-motion animation and directing. Her versatile skill set also includes work as a seamstress, puppet/set fabricator, and production designer.
In her spare time, Bona offers free mentorship services to those interested in pursuing a career in animation.
